Congratulations, you have just found Explorative Therapy!  We truly appreciate your choice in arriving at my profile, Alexander Johnson, MA, LMHC, CDP, MHP.  I am a duel credentialed clinician.  Originally from Chicago,  I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Certified Substance Use Disorder Professional in the State of Washington.  I completed my undergraduate psychology degree at the University Of San Francisco.  I furthered my education by earning a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Seattle University.

Being in the behavioral health field since 2007 and working with a breadth of diverse populations from a range of socioeconomic status’s, has been helpful. My overarching experience includes clinical services in the mental health, chemical dependency, and behavioral health fields with males and females ages 5 to 65+ from varying cultures, and socioeconomic backgrounds for over 13 years. I have worked in the clinical long-term residential treatment setting, the clinical out-patient setting, the educational arena, as well as the medical environment. I also have significant experience working with the LGBTQ community, as well as populations who possess co-occurring disorders. 

In addition, my experience includes working with multidisciplinary teams providing direct clinical service; intake evaluations; diagnosis; individual, group, and family psychotherapy; outreach; Psychoeducation; crisis response; and coordinating of care with DMHPs, SPD, HMC, and Swedish Medical Center’s ED.

I have significant experience providing therapeutic interventions for individuals and couples experiencing stress and anxiety, depression, PTSD, addiction, psychosis, personality disorders, schizophrenia, dysfunctional interpersonal relationships, adjustment disorders, unhealthy family dynamics, low self esteem, existential crisis and more.

My aim is for clients themselves to self report an improved state of being.  I am versed in a variety of therapeutic approaches such as Person-Centered, Narrative, Dialectical, Humanistic, Existential, Cognitive Behavioral, Strength-Based, and more.  My dedication to aiding my fellow human beings is lifelong.  Let us begin on the path of your progression.
